Asia`s Nobel award to Don Bosco Past Pupil

MANILA: 21 August 2010 -- Christopher Bernido, an alumnus of Don Bosco Technical College in Mandaluyong, Philippines, and his wife Maria Victoria are among the seven honoured this year with what is considered Asia`s Nobel Prize, the Ramon Magsaysay Award. Both come from well-to-do families who earned their doctorate degrees in physics from the State University of New York.

DBYES Ranchi reaches out to the Dioceses of Jharkhand in youth Ministry

A group of 20 youth animators (Priests, Sisters, Youth Leaders) of the four dioceses of Jharkhand underwent a four day training programme on ``Skills in Youth Ministry`` at Don Bosco Youth & Educational Services, Ranchi from 8th - 12th August 2010. Organized by the Archdiocese of Ranchi, it was a live-in-experience to get equipped and empowered with skills necessary for working with youth. Fr. Ashok Kujur, the Director, DBYES, Ranchi was the main resource person.

QUEEN`S BATON RELAY GIVEN A ROUSING WELCOME

The Queen`s Baton for XIX Common Wealth Games arrived in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, on 6th August 2010 at 1.15 p.m. and was accorded a rousing welcome. Don Bosco Kokar Scouts and School Band were specially invited to the spot to give a rousing welcome to the Queen`s Baton.

DB Najafgarh Sets Graduation Day Record with 1,030 Students

NAJAFGARH (New Delhi) - A Don Bosco Technical Institute in India has consistently set higher number of graduating students in these past years. Don Bosco Najafgarh this year had 1,030 graduating students in 18 trades in the recently concluded graduation day marking the end of the 2009-2010 academic year.

BOOK-BUILD IN BANGALORE

A Book-Build was held at Kristu Jyoti College, Bangalore from 7th to 11th August. A group of formation guides and psychologists worked together on a book project.

PSYCHOSPIRITUAL WHOLENESS JOURNEY IN THE HIMALAYAS

An international group of 17 women and men completed a 60-day Psycho-Spiritual Wholeness Journey at Sumedha Centre, Jeolikote, Uttarakhand today.

`International Youth year` inaugurated @ DBYES, Ranchi

A strong gathering of 250 young people from 14 parishes of Ranchi Archdiocese celebrated the opening of the `International Youth Year` at Don Bosco Youth & Educational Services, Ranchi, on 1st August 2010. Organised at the behest of the Archdiocesan Youth Wing, the one day programme had all the ingredients of a youth fest.
